ITO Iki is a fine filament silk thread for hand embroidery. The mulberry silk has an unsurpassable sheen and unique softness. Six filaments are loosely plied to a thickness of 1/71 NM or 21/6 Tram. Very fine embroidery lines and silk shading effects can be achieved by using a single thread or even splicing the thread. Multiple threads are used for stronger lines and filling areas (usually 2-8 strands). Traditionally multiple strands are also twisted by hand to achieve a different texture. Threads of different colors can be nicely blended and fine color transitions realized.
Each cone is 80m / 87 yards.
