WALK "Merino Light" yarn is a super soft single-ply yarn, which is perfect for any close to skin project like shawl and lightweight garments
This yarn is great for combining with a brushed yarn like lace mohair or alpaca, which can also be knitted on a loose gauge. Either by alternating the different yarn bases to create sublte stripes or held together for a wonderful fluffy texture that is warm and light at the same time. Each skein is unique and hand dyed by Cathrin Walk in Germany.
This yarn is one of my favourite hand dyed yarn combined with a lace mohair or alpaca for sweaters, I have knitted quite a few Antler Sweaters by Ankestrick with this combination and Cathrin's hand dyed colours are subtle and mesmerizing. When I combine this Merino Light with a lace mohair (25g - 210m), I get a sport / dk weight gauge and for a size 10, I normally use 2 skeins of Merino Light (200g / 1300m) 4/5 of a mohair with plenty yarn left over.
This yarn is also a good choice for light weight shawls, I used one skein for Andrea Mowry's - Birds of a feather.
